The Importance of the Short Game

Chipping

by: Connie DeMattia

Purpose: On every shot in golf, the hands are ahead of the clubhead when contact is made between clubhead and ball.

Benefit: Train your hands to lead through impact.

Drill: Make Hands Lead

Instruction:
Place a chalk line, club or set up to any mark on the ground that you can visually see the hands being ahead of the ball when you make contact. Keep in mind that the ground is struck after the ball. The ball is never helped into the air - hit down to make it go up.
